Acts 27: 21-22
After they had gone a long time
without food, Paul stood up before them and said: “Men, you should have taken
my advice not to sail from
Paul had faced many trials in his
life. This scripture tells us about his journey to Rome , but it was short lived due to a hurricane that
shipwrecked him on a little island known as Malta .
Without Paul and the crew being
shipwrecked, something might not have taken place. An angel of the Lord
appeared to Paul and told him to not be afraid and that he would stand trial before
Caesar. Think about it in today’s world. That would be like you or me standing
trial before the President of the United States . I think any one of us might be afraid or at least a
little nervous.
Many of us might miss the point
of this scripture and skip through it. But sometimes God decides to send storms
in our lives for a reason. God wasn’t punishing or wanting to kill Paul. He was
simply allowing Paul to see His awesome power. Even though the ship was damaged,
nobody was killed or injured. It’s the
same in our spiritual life. Even though the body or the flesh may fail, our spirit
will live on forever. Remember, no matter what we face or go through there is a
God who loves you and will take care of us even to the end.
Dear Jesus, thank you so much for
your protection today. Thank you for allowing me to not go through any storm
alone. I don’t have to be afraid because I know and trust you will take care of
me. In Jesus name, Amen!
