A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 8:5b-6
Those who are wise will find a time and a way to do what is right, for there is a time and a way for everything, even when a person is in trouble.

How do we acquire wisdom? Wisdom is an essential part of our faith. We need wisdom to be able to do the right things. Wisdom starts by showing God respect and honor. In other words, we fear the Lord. God has our lives in the palm of His hands. There will be times when we will feel isolated and trapped. There will be times when we will feel far away from God. The only way we can overcome these struggles is by trusting God's plan.

Patience is a hard thing to attain these days. We don't feel fulfilled when we have to wait for something to happen. Most of the time, we have to wait for God to move. When we move before God does on something, we have a tendency to mess things up. We have to remember that God's timing is always perfect. God will never be too late. He will always be on time.

Learn how to show patience today. Even when you feel discouraged and in a hard situation. Wait on God and trust in His plan. The Bible says, God will never leave you nor forsake you. Trust in God's promises today. Believe in what He says is true. We don't have to worry about anything in this life when we give God complete control and learn to walk in His ways.

Support System

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10;12b
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

Having good friends and family help in times of trouble can be very reassuring. To know that you have the support you need, is very comforting. A few days ago I was faced with a car that had broken down on my way home. My parents drove five hours out to pay for a hotel, pay for dinner, and give me a car to drive back home. I'm very thankful to have godly parents in my life that will help me no matter what.

So what are you thankful for today? I'm sure by now you have had the opportunity to spend time with family and eat together. Those are moments that mean a lot to people. If you live far away from family, the times you have together are priceless.

This scripture is saying we should learn to appreciate and rely on the support we have. When we work together and not apart, we have a strong defense against anything that comes our way. Make sure you have two or three people in your life that you can trust and be able to share your struggles and triumphs with today. The second we become isolated is when we can be the most distracted. Learn to rely on God and others to help you get through the day.

A Time and Season

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.

In a few more days it will be winter. What do you think about when winter comes? Do you think about the beautiful snow that falls? Do you think about spending time with family during Christmas? Do you think about wearing three layers of clothes because it's too cold outside? Whatever it is, there is a certain time and season for everything. You wouldn't wear shorts outside when it is below freezing would you?

God made everything to change at certain times of the year. Change is always going to happen to us. The question we have to ask ourselves is, are we ready for change when it happens in our lives? Change is inevitable. You know that the seasons will change every three months. You know that the sun will rise and fall every day. So why do some people get mad when change happens? It's constantly all around us. We have to learn to adapt to change in our lives.

This scripture is a great reminder that we constantly have to be changing. Life brings us all kinds of challenges. It also brings us great triumphs. We will experience all kinds of things on earth. Just remember that God is in control of everything around us. He created everything for our enjoyment. The Bible says to take delight in the fruit of your labor. So keep preparing your fields and when the rain comes you will know what to do, even if it doesn't go the way you thought it would.

Right People at the Right Time

Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

A wise person will always put wise people around them. We need good and wise friends to tell us when we stray from the path and when things get hard. When we are faced with life's difficulties, do you have the support you need to get you through the day?

Life is never supposed to be easy. As Christians, we will face all kinds of problems. This is our opportunity to not give up. We have to stand up and have faith God will see us through. Times are getting harder, but God is still in control. Are you letting God have complete control of your life? Are you placing the right people around you to keep you accountable? We only have a short time to make a difference in this life. So make every moment count.

Today I was supposed to be leading worship at my church in Georgia, but my car broke down on the way home yesterday. I had to wait for another car to arrive so I could leave the next morning. On my way home today, I was going through Memphis, TN. I remembered as a little boy visiting Adrian Rodgers church, Bellevue Baptist Church. With just enough time to attend the second service today, I sat down and immediately felt I was exactly where I was supposed to be. I didn't have a care or worry about anything. As I was listening to the pastor's sermon, it was exactly what I needed to hear. At the end of the service, the pastor was at the back greeting guests and I told him the situation I was in and he prayed for me. He even offered to help.

So are you where God wants you to be today? Life will throw you some curve balls. Are you ready to see what God is trying to do? Ask God how you can learn from life's difficulties. See it as an oppurtunity to give God glory. He will show you what He's doing eventually. Trust His provision over your life. Put godly people in your life to help you when you need a shoulder to rely on. Most importantly, listen to God when He's trying to speak to you.

Deceiving Words

Proverbs 26:24-26
People may cover their hatred with pleasant words, but they’re deceiving you. They pretend to be kind, but don’t believe them. Their hearts are full of many evils. While their hatred may be concealed by trickery, their wrongdoing will be exposed in public.

Ever met somebody that was extremely nice and said all the right things, but did it for all the wrong reasons? There are plenty of people that want to take advantage of others. They pretend to be kind and helpful, but in the end they're just trying to walk all over you.

We have to be careful about the people we let into our lives. We can be nice and be Christ-like to people like this, but we don't have to let them ruin us. Don't let people bring you down. If you see there is something not right with the situation you're in, don't let it suck all your energy away. Learn how to deal with people like this. The scripture also says to give your enemy something to drink and eat. In the end, they will feel bad for what they did and their wrongdoing will be exposed.

The important thing to understand is when we are tested with something like this, how are we going to respond? We know if our flesh had it's way we would put these people in their place. As Christians, we have to be careful how we conduct ourselves and how we live out our lives. We have to forgive and love people who don't know the truth. We should be showing them by our actions how to live a godly life. So pray for those who insult you and put you down. Give it to God's hands and let him decide what is best.

Fulfilled Life

Proverbs 21:21
Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.

Do you want to live a happy and fulfilled life? I'm sure you do! This scripture talks nothing about materialistic wealth and how it will bring you life, righteousness and honor. In fact, the Bible talks against gaining wealth in this world. The way we live here on earth, is important to God. God wants our priorities to be right.

The most important commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. The second is like it, to love your neighbor as yourself. We all want to be treated with respect. We all want to feel important and contribute to society in some way. We have to make sure our priorities are right though. What are your motives and your purpose behind what you do in life?

If we pursue righteousness and unfailing love, we will find life, righteousness, and honor. Make a point to love without ceasing today. Make good decisions for you and for your family today. If you want to find life, pursue righteousness and love above all else, and God will show you things you never thought possible.

Wise Words

Proverbs 18:20
Wise words satisfy like a good meal; the right words bring satisfaction.

How many people love to have a good meal? We'll do almost anything to make sure our families have food and a roof over our head. When you seek wise counsel, it will satisfy you like a good meal. Today is Thanksgiving. We have a lot to be thankful for. Saying the right things to people especially today, can make a world of difference in their lives.

The Bible says to give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever. If you want to live a godly life, you have to give thanks where thanks is due. Thank the Lord for your family and friends today. Say the right things and build each other up as Christ would want you to do. Getting an encouraging word from someone makes you feel good doesn't it? Make sure you are building people up and not tearing them down with the words you use.

Take time to tell your friends and loved ones how much you are thankful for them today. Saying a kind word to someone could change their perspective on life. You never know what someone is going through during the holiday season. They could be going through hard times because of losing a loved one or going through financial difficulties. There could be several other reasons, but we have to be an encourager and let them know we love and care about them.

Crown of Life

Proverbs 17:6
Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.

The Bible says children are a blessing from God. As we get older, the greatest joys of life are children and grandchildren. All of us want to leave behind a legacy of some kind for our children. Teaching our children to live godly lives is the one of the greatest responsibilities as a parent or grandparent.

If you are a parent or grandparent, how do you want your children to grow up? What legacy do you want them to leave behind? Do you want them learning the ways of the world or the ways of God? We don't have long to live on the earth. This is just our temporary home. Live in a way that pleases God and honors your family. Set a course as a family to live for the Lord. When you do, your family will be blessed and will know how to act according to God's Word.

Paul said, run in such a way to win the prize. James says, when you persevere to the end of trials and tribulations, then you will receive the crown of life. As you go through life's many turmoils, remember to run in such a way that your children and grandchildren will know the truth. They should see the fruit of your life and it will make a difference for the rest of their lives.

Encouraging Word

Proverbs 12:25
Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.

Why do people worry all the time? The Bible says it is wrong to worry. God knows what we need before we even ask him. All worry does is weigh a person down. Instead, we should be encouraging others and get our mind concentrated on positive things.

If you spend all your energy concentrated on yourself and your problems, you are going to have a hard time with life. You only have twenty four hours in a day. You only have so much energy and time. Don’t let things distract you from where God wants to take you. You have to condition yourself to see past your problems and give them over to God.

Energy is a great thing to have when you use it the right way. When runners are running a race, they have to harness their energy and use it wisely so that they can finish well. In the same way, we have to use our energy well.

The saying goes, you are what you think. Make sure you are thinking good and positive thoughts today. Go ahead and thank God for already providing for your needs today. Don’t dwell on the negative and think positively. Find ways to encourage someone else who is going through a similar situation today.

Cheerful Giver

Proverbs 11:25
The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Generosity is a blessing in itself. I know from time to time we see how people will go out of their way to do something for someone else. The holiday season is a great time to see people serving others. This scripture is a great reminder that when you give your time, money, and possessions, you will be refreshed.

The Bible says that God loves a cheerful giver. So when you give, give with a cheerful heart. God is more interested in your heart and motives than the amount. There are wealthy people that will give a lot of money, but they do it for the wrong reasons. Everyone thinks they are doing a good thing, but their intentions are wrong. They might be able to fool others, but they can’t fool God.

Jesus spoke about this to his disciples. When the Pharisees would give thier offerings, they would drop their change in the offering plate very loudly. They wanted everyone to see and know that they were righteous. Then, we see a peasant woman come and give a few cents. Jesus told his disciples that she gave more than all of them. How could this be? She only gave a couple of cents. The difference was she gave everything she had and it took faith for her to know that God was going to provide for her needs.

When you give this holiday season, do it with a cheerful heart. Most importantly, give out of love. God doesn’t want our offerings when we have sin or grievances towards one another. He wants our hearts to be pure when we give. Maybe you need to get right with someone today and ask for forgiveness. Before you do anything else today, do all you can to make things right with God and others. Then, when you give, God will honor and bless your gift.

Self-examination

Proverbs 5:21
For the Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.

Proverbs 5 is a clear warning for men to avoid immoral women. The lesson is very clear. Don’t let an adulterous woman entice you with all her smooth talk, perfume, and looks. Men are so easily taken by sight. Men have to be careful what they allow themselves to see. God watches our every move and sees right through us. He is paying close attention to how we will respond when tempted.

The easy thing is to give into our flesh, but the best thing to do is to walk away from traps that Satan puts before us. The scripture is clear about adultery and why it is wrong. It can destroy our lives. It can damage relationships for a long time and even cause resentment and distrust. It’s so important that we learn how to deal with our flesh.

The Bible says that God doesn’t give us anything we can’t handle. When you read this chapter make sure you pay close attention to the very first verse. God wants us to pay close attention to His Word. When you do, you will develop wisdom and discretion from spiritual attacks.

Take a moment to read God’s Word today. If you will read a chapter of Proverbs every day, you will go through the entire book in one month. Draw closer to God and He will draw closer to you. The best way to draw close to God is by reading His Word.

God's Wisdom

Proverbs 1:20-21
Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, in the gateways of the city she makes her speech.

Wisdom is an integral part of being a Christian. The only way we can attain it is by asking God and reading his Word. Proverbs is one of the best books of the Bible when you need to acquire wisdom. We have the infallible Word of God at our disposal. We should be using God’s Word and be growing in wisdom daily.

This scripture speaks volumes to this ministry. The other day I was walking around the square looking at all the monuments in honor of our veterans that served in the military. As I was walking around, I came to a brick case and inside of it was the Bible opened to Ecclesiastes. When I discovered this, it was profound. God’s Word is right in the center of our town square. It revealed and confirmed everything God was leading me to do to start this ministry about a month ago.

God’s Word is wisdom and knowledge that can change your life. When we put God in the center of our lives, I believe anything is possible. Continue to walk in God’s wisdom today, and seek his knowledge and truth. Make a conscience effort to make him known wherever you go today.

Godly Worship

Psalm 149:1-5
Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their king. Let them praise his name with dancing. For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.

The last few chapters of Psalms are filled with how we can praise God as his people. Look at what the psalmist says in verse four. The Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. When we become children of God, our lives should be a lifestyle of worship to him.

When we humble ourselves before God, we can rejoice and honor him with our worship. There are all kinds of ways to worship God. We should never limit ourselves when we worship. These psalms are a picture of how we can worship God in our life. The Bible says God wants us to worship him in spirit and in truth.

We can worship God as a body of believers today. Whether it’s in your own quiet time with God or in a small group bible study, God delights in our praises and worship to him. Make sure you take time to let God fill you up today. Find some new ways to worship him and delight in all he has done for you today.

His Promises

Psalm 145:13b-14
The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads.

What is a promise? A promise is an expectation of something favorable to come. So when the Lord promises us something, he will always keep his word. From time to time we make promises we can’t keep. Thank God today that he never breaks his promises.

The scripture tells us that God will help the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. How many of you are carrying a load too much to bear? How do you deal with the stress of your responsibilities in life? When we turn to Jesus and ask him for help, the scripture says that he will help us. We think if we ask something from God he will answer our prayers immediately. When it doesn’t happen like we want it to, we get frustrated.

Sometimes God waits to answer our prayers. Not because he doesn’t care, but because he wants you to have the best result. Giving up would be the easy way out. We need to rely completely on God with our problems. The Bible says to cast your cares and burdens on the Lord and he will give you comfort and rest. God wants to give you comfort and rest today.

The Lord will never break his promises to us. So whatever it is you’re struggling with today, claim that the Lord will pull you through it. He will be faithful and gracious to you when you do.

Prayer Warrior

Psalm 143:6, 8
I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.

Prayer is one of the most powerful defenses we have as a believer in Christ. When we pray, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. There are times when we pray that we have no idea what to pray for. The Holy Spirit is there in our lives to pray on our behalf.

God loves to hear his children pray. We should thank God each day for what he has done for us. His unfailing love is new every morning. When we give ourselves to God, our lives are in his control. The great part about it is he already has a plan. He didn’t have to think about what you were going to do when you gave your life over to him. The Bible says he had us in mind even before the foundations of the world and universe to show his unfailing love to us.

I hope you are comforted to know that God loves you today. There’s nothing that can stop God from loving you. People might stop loving you, but God never will. Continue to pray everyday and listen to God’s Word. It will change your life. God has good plans for you. Make a commitment today to trust God with everything and give yourself completely over to him.

Offensive Heart

Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

David was a man after God’s own heart. He wrote this psalm asking God to point out anything offensive he has done against him. He even wanted God to test his anxious thoughts. David wanted to follow and keep God’s commands. He wasn’t perfect, but he always repented and turned away from his sin. God is pleased when we turn from our sin and ask him to forgive us.

If you are a Christian, you have the Holy Spirit living in you. Before, you didn’t have Jesus in your heart, so you were living like the world. The problem is we have a lot of Christians that want to live like the world today. It’s easy to do in our society, but we should ask God to search our hearts and start living out his plans for our lives.

Jesus is the only one that can forgive us of our sins. We have to come to a place of repentance so we can be forgiven. Only God can point out where we have wronged him. The amazing thing about God is he is faithful to forgive us when we ask him too. What are some things in your life today that you need to ask God to forgive you of? Jesus Christ is waiting on you to turn to him today and make him Lord of everything in your life.

Don't Worry

Psalm 137:8
The Lord will work out his plans for my life- for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.

What a comforting thing to know that God has plans for our lives. We don’t have to worry whether or not God has a purpose for us. All we have to do is ask him what he wants us to do. God has already put desires in your heart to give him glory.

God will always be by your side no matter what. He made you and wants to have a relationship with you. God will endure forever and we can rest assured that he wants us to love and worship him with the gifts and talents he has given us. Are you thankful that God has already mapped out your life? Are you thankful that you don’t have to worry about tomorrow?

The Bible says not to worry about anything.  It also says not to be anxious. We live in a society where that is the complete opposite. Unfortunately, it’s not getting any better either. The only way we can conquer these strongholds is by praying to God and letting him take over our problems. If we learn to let go and let God take control, our lives will have more joy and peace. What is one thing that you are struggling with today that you need to let go of? Let God take over today and see how he will use it for good.

Unity

Psalm 133:1
How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!

We live in a world today where it seems to be harder to get along with people. Jesus spoke very plainly about the end times. There will be wars and rumors of wars. There will be epidemics, natural disasters, and famines all around the world. In a world that is so lost, we have to be bold enough to share the truth to them in love no matter what the cost.

When God’s people our unified, there’s nothing that we can’t accomplish through His love. We are a unique people. We have the ability to reach the world through Jesus. The more unified we are in this effort, the more lives can be changed. Unity is very important to God. Paul wrote about it many times in the New Testament. Ephesians 4 is one of the best chapters on unity. Read it sometime today.

When we give our lives to Jesus, the first thing we learn is to love him with everything we have. When we love him like that, we will love others in the same way. When people wrong you and hurt you, you will be able to forgive and let go of bitterness and grudges.

God’s love covers a multiple of sins. God wants us to love and forgive more. Make an effort to be more unified with your friends and family today. Ask yourself how you can you be more unified with your church today. Make a conscience decision that you will do what Jesus did and FORGIVE!

His Ways

Psalm 128:1-2, 4
How joyful are those who fear the Lord—all who follow his ways! You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be! That is the Lord’s blessing
for those who fear him.

Have you ever been afraid of something? Some people have a fear of heights. Some have the fear of flying. Whatever your fear maybe, you can overcome it through faith in Christ. The scripture says those who fear the Lord, will enjoy the fruit of their labor.

Anyone who works for a living loves to receive a paycheck. We work really hard all week and on Friday we take our check to the bank and deposit it. The Lord wants us to follow all of His ways. The Bible tells us we will be joyful and prosperous. Just like when we are excited about receiving a paycheck, God gets excited when we follow His ways.

What a blessing that is for God. Sometimes we think how can God bless me today? We should be thinking how we can bless God today. God already has great gifts and blessings in store for us. He’s waiting on us to receive His blessings when we follow Him and work hard. He’s the greatest boss you will ever have. His blessings and resources are endless. What an awesome God we serve.

Good Gifts

Psalm 127:3
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.

Have you ever held a baby in your hands? Do you remember when you held your first son or daughter the day he or she was born? What emotions were going through your mind? The Bible says every good and perfect gift comes from God. The psalmist in this verse says, children are a gift from God. Are you thankful for the gift of having children?

What a wonderful blessing to know that God gives us great gifts. As we approach the holiday season, we are constantly thinking about what gifts we should buy for our loved ones. Some of us might want jewelry, maybe a new car, or maybe the newest cell phone. Whatever it is, we want to give our family and friends good gifts. In the same way, God’s gifts are perfect. He wants us to have good gifts from Him.

The Bible says that God knew you even before he formed you, and set you apart to fulfill His purposes in your life. He was speaking this to Jeremiah, but I think He desires that for each of His children. God has a unique plan and purpose for your life. Opportunities are knocking at your door today. God has that perfect gift he wants to give you today. Seize the opportunities to do good things for God today.

Peace and Prosperity

Psalm 122: 6-9
Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces. For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “May you have peace.” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem.

Prayers are so important to God. This single act of obedience can change your life and others. God wants us to rely on Him completely. God doesn’t want our prayers to be selfish. He wants us to intercede for others as well.

Make sure you are praying for your family and community.  Pray for this nation and all the nations of the world. Pray specifically for Israel today. Pray that God’s provision will be all around the walls of Jerusalem. The scripture says, for the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “May you have peace.”

For hundreds and hundreds of years we have seen God’s chosen people go through every kind of situation imaginable. We have seen similar things here in our own lives. We can relate to other countries that hate us. We need to support and love Israel. They are facing very tough times and need all of our prayers. Let’s remember to pray for Israel and our own country today for God to give us peace and prosperity.

Thy Word

Psalm 119: 105
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

The writer of Psalm 119 expresses a deep love for God’s law. It says that he would worship seven times a day on God’s law. How often do we thank and praise God for giving us His law? How often do we seek His statutes and see it as His provision over our lives?

The scripture says the word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. You wouldn’t go into a wilderness at night without a flashlight would you? You would fall and stumble from not being able to see in front of you.  In the same way, you can’t walk around this life without God’s Word. God’s Word is our sword to defend off anything that comes against us. God gave us His Word so we don't have to stumble and fall all the time. We will still make mistakes, but we have the knowledge to know how to correct it and move forward.

We should have a deep longing to seek after God and His Word. This is His love letter to the world. We have been given this to help people in a dark world. God doesn’t want us to wander through life.  He wants us to be free from sin and He has given us rules and guidelines to live by. Not to limit us, but to free and help us be fruitful here on earth.

Live with a passion to open God’s Word today. Reading one scripture today and meditating on it will help you so much when you have to deal with life’s circumstances. Worship and thank God today for giving us His Word and allowing us to be a part of His wonderful plan.

This is the Day

Psalm 118: 22-24
The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing, and it is wonderful to see. This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.

When I was growing up, our church would sing, “This is the Day” almost every Sunday.  I can remember what a wonderful time it was in the life of our church.  One of the reasons I’m in ministry was because of the influence of the music minister there. He was always faithful and glad. I never saw a time where he was sad.

I’ve always wondered how some people can stay so positive all the time. The scripture says to have joy when we face trials and tribulations of many kinds. Part of the Christian life is built on character. God didn’t promise us an easy life, but he did promise us a hope and a future. Life is going to be difficult sometimes and we have to rely on the cornerstone of our faith Jesus Christ to help us through the day.

That’s why we can be glad and rejoice all the time. Even when we go though the deepest valley, if we keep our focus on Jesus, He will be faithful to us no matter what. So today is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it. No matter what happens to you today rejoice and be glad that you are a child of God. Stay focused on Him and he will pull you through any valley in this life.

Godly Value

Psalm 113: 5-8
Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes, with the princes of his people.

Some of the most successful people came from nothing.  We hear stories all the time how people had nothing and through hard work they were able to make something of themselves.  What does God say about this? The scripture shows us that God raises up people of low position in the worlds eyes, to sit with people of high position. God will use the humble and the weak to make His name be higher.

God sees and knows everything around us.  God sees through the heart of man. He sees through all the materialistic wealth we consider valuable.  What does the Bible say about what God values?

God values people and how you spend your time and money on things.  He wants us to use our time and money wisely.  We don’t think about ways we can help others all the time.  God tells us in scripture how to use our time and money. The Bible says not to store up treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal, but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust don’t destroy, and where thieves don't break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Find ways to let go of some things so you can be a blessing to someone today. It’s easy in our society to think about self and not think about how we can help someone else for a change. Find someone you know that has a need today and let God allow you to be used for His glory. Your faithfulness could be the one thing that person needs to receive Christ today.

Right Perspective

Psalm 110: 1
The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.”

Have you ever wondered why wicked people succeed?  I know from time to time this can be frustrating.  The scripture says that God will make your enemies your footstool under your feet.  Don’t ever think God doesn’t know what is going on around you.  With the right attitude, God can use that to prosper you over people that don’t like you.

God places people in our lives to test us.  If we get mad and upset when people are promoted over us, then we don’t have the right perspective on life.  What we should be doing is asking God for that promotion.  God wants us to succeed, but if we don’t ask, we don’t receive.  Make sure you ask God for the things you would like to have happen in your life.  God cares about your job and your future.  As long as it lines up with accomplishing His purpose and will, God will bless you for it.

Remember, don’t let people get you down when they hurt and use others.  Look at it as an opportunity to live right for God and to be a light when things like this happen in your life.  God wants to use you as His vessel to show His love to a dark world. God can use your enemies as footstools today. With the right attitude and perspective, there is nothing that you can’t accomplish through God’s love.

Endless Miracles

Psalm 106:1-3
Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise him enough? There is joy for those who deal justly with others and always do what is right.

Have you ever thought about how you can’t out praise God? God loves to see us worship Him daily. God’s love endures forever.  That alone should encourage us and make us want to praise His name.

When Jesus came to earth, all throughout his ministry he performed miracles of many kinds.  He healed people, turned water into wine, and fed the five thousand.  Those are just a few examples we see in scripture.  The list can go on and on.  God’s miracles are endless just like His love.  He wants to show us He is there and cares about us.

The scripture says true joy comes only from God. When we do what is right and deal with people justly, we will find joy. God cares about how we treat others.  We should be careful what we say and what we do when we are alone or with other people. God is looking for godly people that will step up and do His will.  Find something you can do today to honor God and give Him the glory. God wants to do a miracle in your life and someone you know today.

Crown Jewel

Psalm 104: 31, 33
May the glory of the Lord continue forever! The Lord takes pleasure in all he has made! I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath!

Psalm 104 is a tremendous chapter that describes the Lord’s creation.  What an awesome thought to know that God takes pleasure in His creation.  The Bible says we are the crown jewel of His creation.  God has given us the responsibility to take care of the earth, and to be good stewards with everything He has given us.

Every living thing was created to glorify God.  He takes delight in seeing His creation active and moving.  When His people take the time to thank Him and worship Him, the Bible says God inhabits the praises of His people.  God wants to have a relationship with each and every single person He created.  He desires all to come and receive Him as Lord and Savior.

Wherever you go today, sing and make music in your heart to God.  Let everything you say and do, do it as unto the Lord.  Every breath you have is a gift from God.  You can’t control how long you will be here on this earth.  The scripture says we are here today and gone tomorrow.  So how will you impact those around you? How will you use the gifts and talents God has given you to use for His glory? Give him everything today, because He has given us everything through His son Jesus Christ.

Good Surroundings

Psalm 101: 6-8
I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence. My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip.

The Bible is clear about the kind of people you associate with.  If you surround yourself with people that love God and are committed to His way, you will live with a passion and a purpose to do good things for God.  If you surround yourself with wicked people, you will experience a downward spiral that can lead to destruction.

The people you surround yourself with dictate where you go in life.  This shouldn’t always be the case, but in our day and society it’s very true.  We are consumed with what other people think about us, and we want to be accepted.  Unfortunately, we will make some bad decisions along the way to be liked by others.

Remember, bad company corrupts good character.  It is important to not dwell with people that lie, steal, cheat, and so forth.  That doesn’t mean we will always be free from people like this, but it does mean we should know who they are and how to respond to them.  Maybe you know someone at the office that gossips. Maybe you know someone at school that lies all the time.  How will you respond to people that want to bring others down today?  Make sure you surround yourself with positive and encouraging people.  Associate with people that love the Lord, and live responsibly and are people of integrity.

Giving Heart

Psalm 97: 10-12
You who love the Lord, hate evil! He protects the lives of his godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked. Light shines on the godly, and joy on those whose hearts are right. May all who are godly rejoice in the Lord and praise his holy name!

The scripture today is so powerful to the believer.  Did you know that God has given you the ability to shine light?  Did you know that when you have your heart right, you will have joy and peace?  When your life is reflecting the attitude of Jesus, it should be easy to have joy and peace in your life.  Unfortunately, most people don’t have joy and peace.

When you are living a godly life, the scripture says God will protect you from the power of the wicked.  The problem is very few of us live godly lives. We look at life as to how much we can get instead of how much we can give away.  What a challenge that is to start giving your time, your money, and your possessions away to people that really need it.

We are approaching the holiday season.  What an awesome opportunity you have to do something great for the kingdom of God.  Find organizations that help orphans and widows.  Find missions that will feed the poor and needy for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  The more you give of yourself the more God will bless your life.  In Acts it says “and I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

When God blesses you, always remember to be a blessing back to someone else and tell them about the love of Jesus.  The only way people can see that we are Christ’s disciples, is by showing love toward one another.  Go into your community this holiday season and make an impact. God will richly bless you for it.

Still Small Voice

Psalm 95: 6-7 Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care.  If only you would listen to his voice today!

When life starts going to fast, it’s really difficult to hear God’s still small voice. Everyday we should be committed to reading God’s Word and praying for one another.  The Bible says to carry each others burdens and to love one another.  The first century church did this best.  They did all these things and so much more, and God added to their number daily.

I believe when we are keeping God’s commands and doing what the first century was doing, we can see God move in such a powerful way.  Only by the Holy Spirit is it possible to worship God in spirit and in truth together.  Remember what Jesus said? I will soon be leaving, but I will send you a comforter.  The Holy Spirit lives inside of us for those that trust in Christ.  What a wonderful truth to know that God uses the Holy Spirit to help guide and lead us everyday.

As you are working or going to school today, remember that you have the power of the Holy Spirit living inside of you.  God wants you to follow after Him daily.  Stay close to Him and you will be able to hear that still small voice.  Don’t let life move so fast that you miss out on what God would have you do today.  Find some time today to worship God and pray.
