I Can Only Imagine

Ezekiel 42:14
When the priests leave the sanctuary, they must not go directly to the outer courtyard. They must first take off the clothes they wore while ministering, because these clothes are holy. They must put on other clothes before entering the parts of the building complex open to the public.”

In the temple of the Lord, God gave specific instructions on how each room would be used. In the rooms for the priests, priests would have to wear holy garments approved by the Lord. When we approach the holiness of God, we shouldn’t take it lightly. God allowed the priests to be in His presence only with these holy garments on. This symbolizes that one must enter into the presence of God with a holy heart.

Have you ever thought about what the presence of God would be like? We might have had an awesome worship experience at a church or a concert, but being filled the presence of God all around you is something worth thinking about. When we are saved, we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us. The Holy Spirit allows us to feel God’s presence when we worship Him. One can only imagine what it will be like when God’s presence is the only light we have. Remember, in Heaven, there will be no more darkness and no more shadows in God's presence.

Just like the famous Mercy Me song, “I Can Only Imagine,” it’s great to think about all the possibilities that are before us when we get to Heaven. While we’re here on earth, God desires our hearts to be pure and ready to worship Him at all times. Our life should reflect an attitude of worship to God. Ask yourself this question: How can my life be a reflection of worship to God today?

Dear Jesus, I pray that my life will be a reflection of who you are in my life. I pray that I will approach you with a pure and holy heart as I worship you today. Allow me to feel your presence in a new and refreshing way today. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
