Working Together

Ezekiel 31:9
Because I made this tree so beautiful, and gave it such magnificent foliage, it was the envy of all the other trees of Eden, the garden of God.

This was a message given to Ezekiel from the Lord about Egypt being compared to Assyria. Assyria was called a great cedar tree. Egypt would watch the fall of Assyria and their fate would happen in the same way. Egypt took pride in its strength and beauty. Ultimately, this would be its downfall.

Have you ever looked at something so beautiful that you wish you could have it? Some people look at America as the nation of strength and beauty and would do anything to come here. We have to be careful how we view ourselves compared to the rest of the world. We might have a great military and offer all kinds of goods to other nations, but we should remain thankful for what God has done for us.

The “trees of Eden” could refer to all the other nations who were jealous of Assyria and their great power. It sounds a lot like today doesn’t it. Other nations envy our country and would love to have the chance to come here. What we need to remember is how fortunate and blessed we are by God. We need to remember those in need and help our brothers and sisters in Christ all around the world who need help. Remember, the more we work together, the more the gospel can be reached to the lost.

Dear Jesus, please help me to pray for my brothers and sisters around the world that need help today. Please supply all their needs and help us work together to bring salvation to those who don’t have a personal relationship with you yet. In Jesus name, Amen!
