Amos 5:14-15b
Do what is good and run from evil so that you may live! Then the LORD God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper, just as you have claimed. Hate evil and love what is good; turn your courts into true halls of justice.We should be thankful that God is our helper in times of trouble. God will help us when there seems to be no other way. Sometimes we have to go through pain and suffering, but God will always be there when we go through it. He will be our comfort and refuge when we seek Him.
Remember, Jesus had to suffer and go through the pain of dying for our sins. We should never forget the amount of strength and boldness it took for Jesus to do that for all of mankind. He faced every kind of temptation we did, but never sinned. If Jesus had sinned, we would have never been able to be forgiven because it required a perfect Lamb to die in place of our sins. Whatever you may be going through, never forget that Jesus already went through it 2,000 years ago so we can have victory of the evil of this world.
Dear Jesus, thank you for dying in my place. Thank you for living a perfect life and taking on my sin and shame so I can have eternal life. Give me the boldness and strength to live for you everyday. I place my life in your hands today! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
